IS SKINPEN FOR ME?
• SkinPen rejuvenates skin from the inside out for younger-looking skin
• Results are natural, safe and effective for all skin tones and types
• Jump-starts new collagen without heat or chemicals
• Quick-and-easy with little to no downtime
How does it work?
SkinPen is a simple, comfortable, and effective treatment for skin rejuvenation. Most people see results in as few as three 30-minute sessions.
Before Treatment
• Your provider will gently cleanse your skin. Topical anesthesia may be administered to assure maximum comfort during the treatment.
During Treatment
• Skin Pen creates millions of controlled microchannels in the skin. This jump starts the production of collagen and elastin and encourages the release of growth factors that recruit and increase reparative cells. The result is a cascade of healing processes that can continue for months following your treatment.
• The SkinPen treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes. Depending on whether an anesthetic is used prior to treatment, your entire treatment session may last up to one hour- still plenty of time to schedule your treatment before work or during your lunch hour. Be sure to speak with your provider before you come to get an accurate estimate, so you know how to plan your visit.
After Treatment
• Your skin may initially appear slightly pink to red, similar to a mild sunburn. This is normal and should subside within 24 to 72 hours.
• Some people see rejuvenated skin after just one treatment, and results may continue to improve for three to six months following your last treatment.
Candidates for SkinPen
SkinPen is suitable for most healthy men and women looking to reduce signs of aging without going under the knife. It is also suitable for all skin types, whether you have dry, normal, oily, or sensitive skin. Common complaints that can be addressed with SkinPen include acne scarring, neck wrinkles, minimizing the appearance of fine lines, moderate-to-severe wrinkles, deep folds and scars all over the body. To qualify for SkinPen treatment, an individual must be in good general health.
Who Should Not Use It?
SkinPen should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane). Talk to your doctor to see if this treatment is right for you.

How do I prepare for my peel?Lush MedSpa recommends that you avoid aggressive exfoliation for 2 days prior to your procedure, that you refrain from waxing in the treated area for 5 days prior and that use cease the use of retinal at least 1 week prior.
-
How do I know which peel is right for me?We offer a variety of peels, each with unique solutions depending on your individual needs. Prior to scheduling a peel, we recommend you get a pre-peel consultation to determine which peel is best for your individual needs.
-
Does it hurt?uring the treatment, it is common to feel mild stinging or burning while the solution is in contact with the skin. Following a peel, your skin may appear red, feel tight or be mildly irritated. Collectively, most clients report only mild discomfort during and after the procedure. For more intensive chemical peels, moderate swelling and dryness may occur and in rare cases blistering.
-
When should I expect to see results from my peel?In the case of many peels, you will see noticeable improvements within the first few days after treatment. However, to achieve significant results, multiple treatments may be required.
-
What do I do when my skin starts peeling? We recommend you do not pick or pull at the dead skin and allow the skin to slough off naturally at its own pace. For more rapid peeling you can choose to forgo the use of moisturizers; however, if this becomes too uncomfortable moisturize to your comfort level. Once the peeling slows you can reintroduce moisture ideally with a product containing Hyaluronic acid.
